The President and the Failure of the Super Committee

The failure of the Super Committee to come to a deficit reduction deal goes back to the debt ceiling deal. The extension of the Bush tax cuts through 2012 agreed to because of the fragility of the economy certainly still holds true today. The economy is so bad Mr. Obama is running away from it by blaming it on the Republicans protecting the wealthiest 2% of Americans. Interesting how he along with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi quickly embraced the movement that espoused their position on raising taxes, the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Interestingly enough while they demonized the true grassroots movement, the Tea Party. specifically Congresswoman Pelosi had expressed concern about their rhetoric leading to violence. Neither backed away from the Occupy Wall Street movement which Americans watched on their network news turn to lawlessness and violence. The Republicans offered some tax increases trying to reach a compromise but the Democrats wanted a trillion dollars in tax increases out of $1.2 Trillion they were required to cut from the deficit. This poisoned the atmosphere while the Committee was working.

The truth is the failure in Washington can be traced directly to our President who has done nothing but waste trillions of dollars on ventures for those who financed his campaign, while blaming Republicans as he has been the campaigner in chief. The President has done more to polarize this nation than any other president in our history to setup the backdrop of his own re-election campaign. He will run against obstructionist Republicans who have passed over a dozen bills only to be blocked from reaching the Senate floor for a vote. President Obama and his big government Democratic allies are willing to allow innocent Americans to suffer so he can run away from his record. This is not only a failure of leadership but a deliberate effort to allow this President to escape all accountability for his myriad of failures. President Obama is fiddling while the country burns around him. This while he actively is creating an atmosphere of class warfare knowing that his policies are destroying the economy creating more people dependant on the government for aid in the hope that they will vote Democratic.

The Occupy Wall Street Demonstrations

The Occupy Wall Street movement is just another example of the protestors who caused all the damage in Wisconsin complete with organized thugs to swell the crowds. It is interesting that the President not only fails to distance himself from them, but he gives them legitimacy and calls them “a movement against how our financial system works”. His words are echoed by Gen. Masoud Jazayeri of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard saying this movement would topple the capitalist system and the structure of our government calling it the American Spring likening it to that which spread throughout the Middle East. The administration however likened them to the Tea Party protests although there were no arrests in any of those and no destruction of property. The Tea Party members were labeled racists, terrorists and a threat to homeland security when the difference in the pictures of Tea Party activists and the groups in Wisconsin and now spreading to New York and beyond are strikingly different and that is clear to all Americans. These people do not speak for the majority of Americans. The majority of Americans are hard working, good people who just want their government to help promote the environment for job creation by the private sector where wealth is created and to escape the burden of a government we can’t afford. The President is glad for the scapegoat to blame for his inability or concern to right the economy. If we really were to seek who to blame the President and his policies and the role of the Federal Reserve under the leadership of Ben Bernanke should be examined. The puposeful devaluation of our currency through their actions should be investigated and see where the money went.
