The Mystery of the Death of Vice Admiral Scott Stearny

Admiral Scott Stearny

This past Saturday the United States lost George H. W. Bush the 41st President who passed away at the age of 94. Ironically on the same day we lost the Commander of the US 5th Fleet. The 58-year-old was reportedly found dead in his apartment in Bahrain and according to reports foul play is not expected. However, the Naval Criminal Investigative Services is investigating this alleged apparent suicide along with the Bahraini Interior Ministry. The fact that both deaths came on the same day is a strange coincidence and the unexplained circumstances along with the involvement of the Bahrainis in the ensuing investigation seems odd at best.

The death of President Bush threatens to relegate this story to a forgotten story but this highly decorated leader of US and Coalition forces in the Middle East is much more pertinent in this highly volatile and dangerous part of the world. Admiral Stearny had just warned the Iranians that their provocations would lead to consequences. That doesn’t sound like someone who would commit suicide and yet still no word on how a highly protected active service Commander of the 5th fleet could die so unexpectedly and mysteriously. Even more concerning is the lack of any word or response from the President and Commander in Chief.

Vice Admiral Scott Stearny was by all accounts even by the Navy’s acknowledgement of his death a warrior and that true type of person never gives up or quits. This story should be plastered all over the media until answers can be found but the relative quiet leaves us with the feeling that the story ends there. That is simply unacceptable and the American People deserve answers when a highly decorated war hero who commands the 5th Fleet of the US Navy dies under mysterious at best and nefarious at worse circumstances.
This story doesn’t make sense at all and the easiest way to get rid of someone is to blame it on suicide telling us there’s nothing that could have been done to prevent it. The truth here is that considering the protective unit this man had and their mission to protect him it is highly unlikely that Admiral Stearny could have killed himself secretly. There are protocols in place and the question here is we are told he was found dead in his apartment but haven’t been told by whom. The speed with which he was replaced and the lack of any news on the investigation is also disturbing given the nature of his command.
If a man of Vice Admiral Scott Stearny’s stature in terms of not only his past accomplishments but the importance of the mission he was leading can just disappear to an “apparent suicide” is quite concerning. Military leaders across the globe serving under the American flag need to consider this an act of war and act accordingly. Justice must be served and those responsible for this heinous, cowardly crime must be held to account. This story must be followed to the end where the guilty are punished and that   this man’s family can find closure from the agony inflicted by his reported suicide and his dignity, pride, honor and duty to God, country and family are restored.
